Can you believe it, 2 posts on 1 day!
OK here she is, the new addition to our family, Dixie. She is 1/2 Shepherd 1/2 Lab from the Adirondack Humane Society. She is 10 weeks old, energetic, inquisitive and can sit.
Greta adores her, they run around and play all over the yard. More pics and stories to come shortly.
Look! Gina in the kitchen canning relish & pickles from the garden! Grandma would be proud!
Yes, very proud of the first 3 feet and 2 steps of my patio. Damn, that is some hard work moving and laying stone. My only hope is to get it finished before the snow starts. Speaking of snow, we had a frost last night! But our garden survived well as it is located ina microclimate near the pool which has stored a tremendous amount of latent heat.
OK, here are a couple of pics of my cheese making forays. Other than a swiss style of cream cheese and some yogurt, this is the first of hopefully many rounds of hard chesses. This is a farm style cheddar. Waxed and everything!
Yes Mom, again you were right. Even though the potato plants looked rough after 'groveling' through in fact there are hundreds of them! These are the first of the blue potatos. Ohh are the delicious. Buttery and succulent, not like the dry coarse and mealy things in the grocery store!
and the story continues...

If Scott's grandma knew Gina she would be shocked, not proud! Must be the fresh mountain air! Gina told me you were going to live off the land, I laughed! I still think you will probably be vegetarians! But there is nothing wrong with that!
The patio looks like it is going to be worth every minute of your hard work. I cannot wait to visit!
